During the 16th
anniversary of June 4, 1989 Massacre in Beijing, Mr. WEI Jingsheng visited 9
European countries to participate in the June 4 anniversary activities, deliver
speeches and receive interviews, in an effort to remind the world of what had
happened 16 years ago. As the
European Union held a heated debate about lifting the arms sales embargo to
China which was imposed right after the massacre, Wei wanted to take the
opportunity to remind the whole European society of the current development
issues and human rights violations in China, as well as its implications to
world peace.
From the end of
May to early June, Mr. WEI visited nearly 10 cities in France, Belgium,
Germany, Austria, etc. He also
attended seminars held in several of these cities regarding China. These seminars were offered to reveal
the true picture of the current China, analyze its future trends, and study the
phenomena of "quitting the Chinese Communist Party". They have received the support of
European parliaments and parliament members, as well as attention of the
mainstream society.
During his tour,
Mr. WEI Jingsheng analyzed the diplomatic relationships and international
circumstances between the countries of Europe, the USA, Japan, China, and
Taiwan. He advised the Europeans
to recognize the violent and invasive nature of the Chinese Communists under
the cover of its "economic boom". He emphasized that the Chinese government always
manufactures disasters in an effort to maintain its dictatorial ruling. Regarding the lifting of the arms sale
embargo, Wei emphasized that it is equivalent to encouraging China to start a
war. Regarding the issue across
the Taiwan Strait, Wei emphasized that to end the dictatorship in China is the
beginning the resolution of many problems in China.
The seminar
series started on May 30 in France's capitol Paris. On May 31, the 2nd seminar was held at the European
Parliament in Brussels, Capital of Belgium. The vice chair of the European Parliament invited parliament
members to attend. On June 1 in
Berlin, the capital of Germany, German parliament member KLAUS ROSE hosted the
seminar and give open remarks. On
June 3 the seminar was hold in Vienna, capital city of Austria. Then Mr. WEI went on for the seminars
that were continued in the Scandinavian countries.

“六四”十六周年,魏京生参加“中国现状与未来”系列研讨会在欧洲大陆巡回演讲（综合报道）
“六四”16周年之际，魏京生先生访问了9个欧洲国家，参加活动并进行演讲，接受采访。目的是提醒世人不要忘记中国1989年的6.4血案，在欧盟内部正在激烈讨论是否应解除当时通过了对华武器禁运条例之时，魏京生先生希望欧洲社会各界更为关注目前中国的政经发展情况和人权状况，及因而可能产生的对世界和平的影响。
2005年5月末至6月初，魏京生先生访问了法国，比利时，德国，奥地利等近十个城市，包括参加在欧洲多个国家举办的系列巡回研讨会，透视中国现状，分析未来走向，剖析由大纪元系列社论“九评共产党”引发的退党大潮。得到欧洲议会和多个国家国会议员的支持和主流社会的普遍关注。
其中，魏京生分析了目前欧美日中台之间的相互外交关系和国际形势，希望欧洲各界认清中国经济假想掩盖下的暴力和扩张本性。魏京生说，中国政府总是制造灾难来维持专制独裁统治。“要是欧盟此时解除对它武器禁运，无疑鼓励发动战争。”魏京生说，在台湾问题上，结束一党专政，才是中国众多问题解决的开端。
系列研讨会于5月30日在法国首都巴黎拉开帷幕。5月31日，第二场研讨会在比利时首都布鲁塞尔的欧洲议会举行，由欧洲议会副主席麦克密廉．斯哥特出面邀请议员参加。6月1日，研讨会在德国首都柏林召开，由德国国会议员，对台关系委员会主席罗瑟名誉主办。6月3日，演讲团应邀前往奥地利首都维也纳，并在当地媒体俱乐部举办第四场研讨会。随后前往北欧各国。
