Mr. WEI Jingsheng's Scandinavian Tour Composed of Seminars and Interviews

During mid-June, Mr. WEI Jingsheng visited the 4 Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland, together with other Chinese human rights and democracy activists, especially the chief editor of the Epoch Times Annette GUO and professor at the Catholic University of America, Dr. NIEH San.  Mr. WEI delivered speeches at pre-arranged seminars, rallies, and gave many interviews to over a dozen different news media.  Many organizations co-sponsored the events, including the Overseas Chinese Democracy Coalition and the Epoch Times.  During these events, Wei Jingsheng also met with many politicians and human rights activists, both Chinese and European.

The main theme of Mr. Wei Jingsheng's speeches and interviews was on current affairs in China, as well as a China without Chinese Communism.  Wei pointed out that there is a huge crisis going on in China with Chinese Communism -- the distrust of the Chinese people of the government causes difficulty in carrying out Chinese government policy, as well as deepens its ruling crisis.  The new leadership thus intends to use war to overcome the crisis and to enhance its authority.

Mr. Wei pointed out that although he has been calling for attention on Chinese human rights since 1989, the Chinese human rights situation has been deteriorating.  For the last a few years, the Europeans have continued to conclude that business with China is more important to them than Chinese human rights.  Mr. Wei further analyzed that the deterioration of the Chinese human rights condition could really threaten the security of the Europe and world peace.  He called on both the European government and people to pay attention, for the conditions are directly related to Europe's own future and security.

He reminded Europe of the past history of Chinese Communism using wars to get rid of its own crisis.  In the early 1950's, Mao Zedong was able to strengthen the new government through the Korean War.  In the early 1960's, while tens of millions starved to death due to Communist policy and practices, the attention was shifted to the Chinese Communists' war against India.  At the end of 1960's, while the Culture Revolution lost control, the war for the island on the river boarder between China and the former USSR carried the Chinese government over the crisis.  In 1976, as Deng XiaoPing took over the leadership, he used war against Vietnam to transfer the military commanding power to himself.  Now, Hu JinTao's best bet to solve his governing problem both economically and politically, is his attempt to use a war across the Taiwan Strait to get over his crisis.

However, Wei thinks that Hu Jintao has received strong opposition on this issue even within the Communist Party itself.  If international society is alert to what is in the mind of the Chinese Communists, and pays close attention to the Chinese human rights condition, the war intention could be resolved.  He thinks that the seduction and division the Chinese Communists have been doing in Europe is very similar to what Adolf Hitler did before World War II.

Wei said that as Chinese Communists face their own collapse and banking crisis, the war could help it to delay its death.  The philosophy of the Chinese Communists has always been "the ends justify the means".  His news that many Chinese military enterprises have received orders to manufacture a large amount of weapons was confirmed by some of his seminar attendees.  They stated that some military related manufacturers in Southern China that were on the edge of bankruptcy have received orders from above to manufacture weapons in preparation of the possibility of a war.

Mr. Wei Jingsheng also reminded Europe to be alerted by the cooperation between China and Russia, who would like to see the rise of Communism forces in the Eastern European countries.  The Chinese Communists have been using China's market to soften Europe's stand, to affirm these European countries in their selfishness and their unconcern for moral standards.  When this is happening, the Western camp will not be able to deal with the Chinese Communists.
