Wei Jingsheng Meets with US Congressional China Caucus Founder and Co-Chairman
Randy Forbes, Discusses Wide Range of Issues Related to China
On Wednesday, February 6, 2006, the second day after the US House came back in session, WEI Jingsheng and HUANG Ciping met with the founder and co-chairman of the Congressional China Caucus, Congressman J. Randy Forbes (R Virginia) and his staff.
The Congressional China Caucus was formed in 2005 with 35 US House members, in an effort to cover a wide ranger of issues, including the military and shipbuilding, economy and trade, intellectual property, energy and resources, human rights and religious freedom. During the more than half-hour long meeting, a wide range of issues were discussed. Congressman Forbes listened carefully to Mr. Wei’s brief about the current status of China and its possible effect on the international community, and expressed his agreement. Both sides agreed to keep contact and cooperation in the future.

美国国会中国核心小组组长富布斯与魏京生、黄慈萍会晤
2006年2月1日，美国国会众议院２００６年复会的第二天，魏京生与黄慈萍前往美国国会拜会了新近成立的众议院中国核心小组的创建人与共同主席兰迪富布斯(J. Randy Forbes)先生。
美国众议院中国核心小组成立于２００５年，由３５名国会议员组成。其目标是对所有有关中国的问题进行一个全面与综合的调查，分析与评估。关注的范围包括有军事、经贸、知识产权、能源、人权与宗教自由等。在半个多小时的会谈中，富布斯先生仔细聆听了魏京生先生的看法并表示赞同。大家就一系列有关中国的现状与具体问题及工作计划进行了广泛的讨论。双方都一致表示今后要保持联系，密切合作。
