WEI Jingsheng Meets with US Under Secretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs, Paula Dobriansky
On Monday morning, July 31, 2006, Mr. WEI Jingsheng, the Chairman of the Overseas Chinese Democracy Coalition, met with Ms. Paula Dobriansky, the Under Secretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs in the US State Department. Dr. CHEN Xingyu, a board member of the Wei Jingsheng Foundation, and Ms. HUANG Ciping, the Secretary-General of the Overseas Chinese Democracy Coalition and the Executive Director of the Wei Jingsheng Foundation, attended the meeting as well. Other attendees include official from the US State Department's Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor, Dr. Michael Orona, and advisor for the Under Secretary Dobriansky, Mr. Joseph Bracken. The meeting lasted for one hour with constructive discussion of several important issues.
Both sides exchanged viewpoints of the recent development inside of China, as well as concern of the democratic progress inside of China, and challenges and difficulties come along. The discussion also includes the topic of how to effectively push for democracy in China.

魏京生与美国主管民主与全球事务的副国务卿杜布然斯基会见
2006年7月31日上午。中国民主运动海外联席会议主席魏京生，与美国主管民主与全球事务的副国务卿杜布然斯基(Paula Dobriansky)在美国国务院进行了会见。会见时在座的有；魏京生基金会董事陈兴宇博士；海外联席会议秘书长、魏京生基金会执行主任黄慈萍女士；杜布然斯基副国务卿的顾问布拉肯（Joseph Bracken）先生；国务院人权局海外政策顾问奥罗纳 (Michael Orona) 博士。
会见讨论并探讨了一系列事务,特别是双方对中国国内的形势发展交换了看法。双方也都很关心中国国内民主化的进展及所遇到的困难，并就如何有效地推进中国的民主化进行了讨论与磋商。会议气氛真诚而又务实，以至于半个小时的约定时间被延长到一个小时。
