Overseas Chinese Democracy Coalition (OCDC) Europe Meeting Concludes
September 30, 2006
On September 30, 2006, on the occasion of Mr. Wei Jingsheng's trip to Europe to receive the "Stefano Bellaveglia Award" by Fondazione Liberal, the Overseas Chinese Democracy Coalition held its Europe Continental meeting in Frankfort, Germany. Some of the Coalition leaders in Europe attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed the work of the Coalition since last year, and defined the targets for the upcoming period.
1. Regarding the Taiwan Issue
Recently, there are complicated changes within the political structure across the Taiwan Strait, as well as confusion and conflict within Taiwan. These complications have already affected the basic interests of the overseas Chinese democracy, which has caused confusion and division within our own ranks. The Overseas Chinese Democracy Coalition believes that it is essential to thoroughly overhaul, put our ideas into shape, and explicitly express our stands on the base of supporting anti-corruption and furthering the democracy process in Taiwan.
2. The focal points of the OCDC Europe Continental for the next period
For the upcoming period, with the Chinese Communist government's political scheme of exchanging economic interests for the lifting of the arms embargo by the European Union, as well as its ambition of dividing the political alliance of the democratic countries, the OCDC in Europe Continental shall continue beneficial resistance and new rounds of diplomatic work. The work focal points shall be in Germany, Italy, Denmark, etc. Varies country charters of OCDC shall cooperate with the OCDC headquarters in this regard.
3. The OCDC Asia-Pacific Continentals work for the next period
With the arrangement of Mr. WEI Jingsheng to visit Japan in October, the Overseas Chinese democracy movement shall start a new dimension in Japan. The OCDC Asia-Pacific Continental working meeting, as well as a large-scale seminar, are also planned for the end of this year or beginning of next year.
4. Human Rights for the Olympics
Due to the continued deterioration of Chinese human rights, the Overseas Chinese Democracy Coalition shall start a new round of resistance in an effort to mobilize strong international pressure to the Chinese Communists. The OCDC shall start its earlier stage of preparation which including the collecting related materials, lobbying the athletics communities of varies countries, calling for the attention of the public media, organizing activists storm the barriers, etc.

中国民主运动海外联席会议欧洲会议通告
9月30日，借魏京生主席来欧洲领取意大利“斯蒂法诺﹒贝拉瓦格利亚奖”之机，中国民主运动海外联席会议在德国法兰克福召开了欧洲工作会议。联席会议欧洲各国分部部分干部与会。会议回顾总结了一年以来联席会议的工作，确定了今后一个时期的工作方向。
一：台湾问题
一个时期以来，台海之间政治格局的复杂变化和台湾内部的各种政治乱象与冲突，已经影响到了海外民运的根本利益，使海外民运内部路线混乱、阵线分化，中国民主运动海外联席会议认为有必要在支持反腐与深化民主制的基本出发点上正本清源，理清思路，明确立场。
二：联席会议欧洲工作的重点
今后一个时期，要对中共试图再度以经济利益换取欧盟对中国武器禁运解禁的政治企图和分化瓦解民主国家政治同盟的野心，采取有利的抵制和新一轮的外交工作。工作重点将放在德国、意大利、丹麦等国。联席会议各国分部将配合总部开展工作。
三：联席会议亚太地区工作
今年10月魏京生主席访日，将开拓海外民运在日本的新局面。在今年年底或明年年初准备召开中国民主运动海外联席会议亚太工作会议，以及大型研讨会。
四：人权奥运
鉴于中国人权状况不断恶化，中国民主运动海外联席会议将就2008年在北京举行的奥运会进行一场新的抵制运动，对中共造成强大的国际压力，并进行前一期准备工作。活动包括：收集相关材料，游说各国的体育界，媒体的宣传，组织民运人士闯关，等等。
