Overseas
Chinese Democracy Coalition Presented a Briefing Inside of the United Nations
in Geneva about Olympics 2008 and Human Rights in China, Sponsored by the
Transnational Radical Party
In
the afternoon of December 12, 2007 during the resumed 6th session of the Human
Rights Council, the Overseas Chinese Democracy Coalition presented a briefing
on the worsening human rights condition in China in the United Nations' Palais
des Nations' room XXV in Geneva, Switzerland.
The
briefing lasted for one and half hours.
It was sponsored by the Transnational Radical Party, and moderated by
its representative Nicola Dell'Arciprete, who briefed the audience about
Transnational Radical Party's effort for world-wide non-violent peace
initiative.
Mr.
WEI Jingsheng, Chairman of the Overseas Chinese Democracy Coalition, lead the
team of Chinese democracy movement leaders all over the world to present the
briefing. Other Coalition members
also attended the briefing in support.
The
title of the briefing was: 2008 Olympics in China and Human Rights violations:
an opportunity not just to watch, but to help human rights defenders in China.
The
following was the order of the presentation:
Mr.
WEI Jingsheng gives the general outlines of human rights in China, in
particular of the need of emphasize human rights nowadays, instead of letting
human rights erode away during the "anti-terrorist" era.
Mr.
PAN Qing from New Zealand introduces several open letters signed by tens
thousands people which are related to 2008 Olympics Games.
Mr.
LIU Gang from Denmark has his topic about relationship in between European
Countries and China.
Mr.
XI HaiMing from Germany tells minority suffering in China due to the Chinese
Communists' suppression.
Ms.
MING Xia from Japan presented environmental problems in China and issue of
Japanese kidnapped by North Korea.
Ms.
XIA Ze from England uses her own family sufferings to reflect what happened to
most of Chinese under the Chinese Communist's rule, including the suffering of
the victims of June 4 Massacre in 1989 and Falungong practitioners.
Mr.
HUANG Zhong from Hong Kong has his topic on Chinese Communist Party's involvement
with Hong Kong's politics.
Mr.
ZHANG Jian from France talks about religious suppression in China and his own
experience as a student leader in TianAnMen Square in 1989 Democracy Movement.
Ms.
HUANG Ciping from the USA has her topic on workers' rights and union movement
in China, as well as the wrongs of death penalty in China that is 90% of the
world total.

中国民主运动海外联席会议在联合国大厦内举行有关北京2008奥运会的中国人权报告会
2007年12月12日下午,中国民主运动海外联席会议在正在召开的联合国第6届人权理事会的联合国大厦内举行了一场长达一个半小时的有关中国人权的报告会。报告会的主题为:“2008年中国奥运及人权侵犯:不仅仅是个观察的机会,更应当帮助中国的维权者们”。
这场跨国界激进党支持的报告会由其代表尼古拉·德尔阿齐普瑞台(Nicola Dell'Arciprete)主持,他首先介绍了激进党全球范围内的非暴力和平启动运动。
中国民主运动海外联席会议主席魏京生先生带领的来自世界各地的中国民主运动海外联席会议成员们给予专题报告。其他的成员们也出席参加。
以下为有关的讨论专题:
1. 魏京生先生强调在当今“反恐”的形势下更需要突出人权。

8. 法国的张健先生是1989年天安门民主运动的学生领袖,他主要谈中共的宗教迫害。
9. 美国的黄慈萍女士的主题是中国的工人权利及工人运动的重要性,以及占世界死刑的90%的中国死刑的问题。
