Jingsheng Attends "Students for a Free Tibet" Camp in Upstate New
York
On
June 26, 2010, Tibetan leaders in the USA held a special 60th birthday
celebration for Wei Jingsheng in New York City. Many friends who support democracy and freedom in Tibet and
China attended the event, including the former and current leaders of Chushi
Gangdruk.
On June
28, 2010, as the pioneer of the Chinese democracy movement, Wei Jingsheng was
invited to attend and to speak at the "Students for a Free Tibet"
11th "Free Tibet! Action Camp" in the Catskill Mountains of New York
State. Tibetans, students, and
activists from the US, Canada, Norway, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, etc.
participated. In his speech to
these young leaders, Wei Jingsheng expressed the Chinese people's support for
the Tibetans' striving for freedom.
In particular, he pointed out that the most important is to respond to
the call of his holiness the Dalai Lama to push for democratic reforms by the
Tibetan exile groups overseas.

2010年6月26日，在美国的藏人领袖们在纽约城专门为魏京生先生举行了一个特别的60大寿庆祝活动。许多支持西藏和中国民主自由的朋友们，包括四水六岗的前任和现任领导人参加了这次活动。
2010年6月28日，作为中国民主运动的开路先锋，魏京生应邀赶赴纽约上州幽静的避暑胜地参加“学生支持自由西藏”国际组织的第十一届“自由西藏行动”夏令营并讲话。来自美国、加拿大、挪威、英国和瑞士等国的藏人、学生和活跃人士的领袖们参加了这次活动。魏京生先生在他的讲话中表达了中国人民对西藏人民争取自由的支持。他还特别在他的讲话中指出，当前最重要的是响应达赖喇嘛的号召，在海外的藏人流亡团体里推进民主化改革。
