Jingsheng Attends Activities to Promote Chinese Workers Rights by Workers Party
of France
On
the evening of June 17, Wei Jingsheng was invited to attend and give a speech
at the 17th fundraising dinner party organized by the Workers Party of France
and Solidarité Chine. About 200
people attended. The central topic
of the discussion was about Chinese workers conditions. The funds raised from the event will be
used for the Chinese labor movement.
Since the early 1990's, this fundraising event has been held 16 times
previously. For years, the Workers
Party of France (formerly the Fourth International) has been doing a lot of
work propagating information for the Chinese labor movement, as well as urging
the attention of Chinese workers in the international workers' movement.
In
his speech, Wei Jingsheng said: Since the 1980's, the so-called "Chinese
model" economic policy of Deng Xiaoping has been to attract a lot of
foreign companies to share excessive economic exploitation of workers in
China. These big Western companies
enjoy a superior treatment above average citizens in China and profited from
the extremely cheap labor. Thus,
they have become the umbrella protecting the Chinese Communist Party, and are
prompting Western countries to become less and less concerned about China's
human rights and trade union movement.
Now, the Chinese Communist Party has become a complete autocratic party
for these big capitalists.
In
the past few years, due to the economic recession in the Western countries,
more and more Western people and politicians realize that the Chinese model is
also an exploitation of the Western economy itself, and is the main cause
bringing the world economy into recession. As the big businesses of the West in China earn excess
profits year after year, Western workers are losing their jobs and the
financial sector is falling into a vicious circle. Therefore, the call for economic sanctions against China is
increasing.
In
this situation, China's human rights and trade union rights are also becoming
hot topics in the international politics.
I hope we could work together to push the situation towards a direction
in favor of Chinese workers.
Nevertheless, it seems President Sarkozy has yet to notice this new
trend. Therefore, you all have the
responsibility to remind him to keep up with the trends of the international
community.

Jingsheng's speech won enthusiastic applauses. Then, the Chinese workers 'movement activist Mr. CAI Chongguo
spoke about the current situation in the Chinese workers' movement. In particular, he talked about the
workers uprising situation in Guangzhou recently. The Secretary of the Workers Party of France also briefed
the attendees on the work they have done for the Chinese workers'
movement. Ms. Marie Holzman talked
about the Chinese democracy and human rights work done in France by Solidarité
Chine. Mr. MA Desheng, a veteran
artist from the Democracy Wall era, recited a warm poem which won enthusiastic
applauses and praises.
People
enjoyed it so much, they were reluctant to leave. The dinner party lasted until 10:30pm and attendees all
thought this was one of the most emotional and substantial parties in years.

魏京生在巴黎参加法国劳工党的活动
2011年6月17日晚，魏京生应邀参加了有两百人参加的法国劳动党和《中国团结》联合举办的第17次关注中国工人现状年度学术研讨筹款餐会，并发表讲演。餐会所筹款项将用于推动中国劳工运动。从九十年代初开始，餐会已连续举办了十六次。劳动党和它的前身第四国际工会，多年来为中国工人运动传播信息，并在国际工人运动中推动对中国工人的关注，做了大量的工作。
魏京生在讲演中说道：从八十年代以来，邓小平的所谓的中国模式的经济政策，吸引了大量的外国公司在中国分享对中国工人的超经济剥削。这些西方的大公司在中国享受着超国民的待遇和极其廉价的劳动力，也就成为了中国共产党的保护伞，促使西方国家越来越不关心中国的人权和工会运动。中国共产党也就成为了完全的资产阶级专政党。
最近几年以来，由于西方国家的经济衰退，越来越多的西方人民和政治家认识到，中国模式同时也是对西方经济的剥削，是导致世界经济陷入衰退的主要原因。在中国和西方的大企业连年赚取超额利润的同时，西方的工人在失去工作，金融业陷入了畸形的怪圈。因此，在经济上制裁中国的呼声越来越高。
在这个形势下，中国的人权和工会权利，也重新开始成为国际政治中的热门话题。我希望和大家一起努力，推动形势向有利于中国工人的方向发展。然而，萨科奇总统好像还没有注意到这个新的形势，你们大家有责任提醒他跟上国际社会的潮流。
魏京生的演讲获得了热烈的掌声。接着，中国工人运动活动家蔡崇国先生介绍了当前中国工人运动的形势。他特别介绍了广州最近工人骚动的情况。劳动党的书记也介绍了多年来为中国工人运动所作的工作。侯芷明女士介绍了《中国团结》在法国为推动中国民主人权所作的工作。民主墙时代的老艺术家马德生先生为大家朗诵了热情洋溢的诗歌，赢得了热烈的掌声和赞扬。
餐会一直到十点半，人们才恋恋不舍地离去。大家都认为这次餐会是多年来情绪最高，内容最充实的一次。
