Wei Jingsheng Met and Talked with the Democratic Leader of US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi

In the afternoon of September 29, 2015, Mr. Wei Jingsheng, chairman of the Overseas Chinese Democracy Coaliton (OCDC), and Ms. Huang Ciping, OCDC Secretary-General, went the office of Ms. Nancy Pelosi, the leader of the Democratic Party of the US House of Representatives, in the US Capitol. Leader Pelosi and her aids met with them.

As soon as both sides met, Leader Pelosi praised Wei Jingsheng as her "hero." She also told Wei Jingsheng the reason that she did not go to the protest site on September 25 was because she met with Xi Jinping instead. She personally criticized the human rights situation in China, with strong words. Wei Jingsheng was very happy to learn that, and praised her for her consistent support of China's human rights and democracy, which has made her well-known in China as a politician with conscience.

During the meeting, both sides effectively discussed in detail the next strategy and plans of promoting Chinese human rights and legal reform by engaging and encouraging both the US Congress and civil society.

魏京生与美国国会众议院民主党领袖南希·佩洛西议员会面并交谈

2015 年9月29 日下午，中国民主运动海外联席会议主席魏京生先生和联席会议秘书长黄慈萍女士，在美国国会大厦众议院民主党领袖南希·佩洛西议员办公室里，会见了佩洛西女士和她的主要助手，并进行了会谈。

双方一见面，佩洛西领袖就称赞魏京生为她的“英雄”。她还告诉魏京生，9月25日她没有去抗议现场，是因为她要去会见习近平。她当面批评了中国的人权状况，而且措词强烈。魏先生非常高兴，并赞扬她一贯支持中国的人权民主活动，是在中国广为人知的、有良心的政治家。

双方的会谈详细讨论了国会和民间下一步促进中国人权和法制改革的计划及方案，卓有成效。
