Chinese Communist Regime and the 12-Foot High "Goddess of Democracy"
Statue Will be On Display in Front of the US Capitol in Washington DC on June
2, 2016
On
June 1, 2016, the Exhibition of the National Terrorist Atrocities Conducted by
the Chinese Communist Regime and the 12-foot high "Goddess of
Democracy" statue finally made to the Washington metro area after a
several thousand mile journey with exhibitions on the way. It started in mid-May from Los
Angeles. It will be on display in
the afternoon of June 2, 2016, just to the west of the US Capitol on the
National Mall, right on its axis.
The exact location is: North Inner Gravel Walkway between 3rd and 4th
Streets on the National Mall.
The
event is co-organized by the Los Angeles Chinese Democracy Platform, China
Democratic Party, the Wei Jingsheng Foundation, Citizens Research Institute,
Chinese Democracy Education Foundation, Chinese Women's Rights, Chinese
Petitioners, and Goddess of Democracy Foundation. It took nearly one year of preparation for this event and
the long journey.
In
addition to the statue, pictures, sounds tracks and other contents, democratic
leaders and activists from all over the United States will hold a press conference
and discussion session between 2pm and 5pm. They will speak of this exhibition and the "Goddess of
Democracy" that as a symbol of the 1989 pro-democracy movement in China. They will also talk and discuss about
the future of China and the road to democracy. The speakers include:
1.
Wei Jingsheng, chair of the Overseas Chinese Democracy Coalition;
2.
Chen Weiming, the artist who initiated, planned and organized this event;
3.
Zhang Qing, the wife of Guo Feixiong, a prisoner of conscience who suffered in
China;
4.
Leslie Levy, a witnesses of the crackdown in Beijing in 1989;
5.
Zhao Yan, former New York Times reporter;
6.
Yao Cheng, former Colonel in Chinese Navy Command Headquarters;
7.
Dr. Lu Wenhe, IFCSS council member;
8.
Zhang Jiarui, member of the Los Angeles Chinese Democracy Platform;
9.
Sun Yan, Democracy Wall veteran and a witness of the June 4 Massacre in Beijing
in 1989;
10.
Wang Chunyan, representative of the Chinese Petitioners;
11.
Qin Weiping, Chairman of the Chinese Democratic Party Youth Committee;
12.
Zi Yuan, member of the Los Angeles Chinese Democracy Platform;
13.
Professor Xia Ye-liang, visiting fellow at the Cato Institute.
Huang
Ciping, the Executive Director of the Wei Jingsheng Foundation, will be the
moderator.

2016年6月1日，5月中从洛杉矶启程的中共国家恐怖主义暴行展及陈维明先生制作的12尺高“民主女神”雕像在长途跋涉一路展出数千英哩后，终于到达位于美国东部的首都华盛顿，并将于2016年6月2日下午在美国国会山的国会大厦之西展出。具体地点是：美国首都华盛顿国家广场内位于第3街与第4街之间的中轴线之北的人行道。（North
