Wei
Jingsheng, chairman of the Overseas Chinese Democracy Coalition, said that the
election of Meng Hongwei, Vice Minister of Public Security in China, could give
Beijing new leverage over its critics and pose a threat to dissidents who have
fled China. VOA asked Wei
Jingsheng for further explanation.
Mr.
Wei pointed out: For a long time, the Chinese Communist regime has deliberately
translated the "Red Notice" issued by Interpol into "Red Arrest
Warrant", as it has the "authority" to arrest. The Communist regime also put these
"Red Notices" on the website of its Central Commission for Discipline
Inspection, to effectively frighten the opposition within the Communist
Party. In the past these "red
notices" were only for overseas dissidents, but now they are used to deal
with the opposition within the Party, to suppress them psychologically. Interpol choosing Meng Hongwei as its president,
in fact, is to interfere in the internal affairs in China, to help Xi Jinping
and Wang Qishan to block the escape route of their opposition.
Wei
Jingsheng said that he himself was seized and searched as a terrorist due to
Interpol. The Chinese government
is very good at making false evidence.
There are hundreds of "red notices" issued by Interpol about
Chinese, including many officials and family members of officials who are not
getting along with the authorities.
This is one of the reasons why earlier this month, with the help of many
French friends especially journalists and academics, we went to the
headquarters of Interpol in Lyon; to issue a strong warning to them. Because these friends are also
dissatisfied, over the years they have been warning Interpol not to become a
tool for dictatorship.
Wei
Jingsheng said: In the history of Interpol, during the Second World War it also
elected several people who worked for Nazi Germany, especially the head of the
German secret police Reinhard Heydrich, as its presidents. The Interpol played a big role in
helping the Nazis to search for the opposition and the Jews. So now we are worried that this
situation will be repeated. We are
using this history to seriously warn them and hope to communicate with them
about the threat. Wei Jingsheng
finally said that internationally there are many friends with conscience who
have been concerned about this matter for years, which is why this visit to
France was extremely successful and received a lot of attention by academia and
the media. Wei hopes that these
efforts will result the attention of the relevant Interpol member countries and
their governments.

bowed down to the pressure from China and cut short of the interview with Guo Wengui
simply because an Interpol order, brought up by China with a clear motive to

Chinese Communist regime used taxpayers' 60 million yuan, to support the
Interpol in exchange for the position of Interpol presidency. And right on the eve of the VOA
interview of Guo Wengui, they had Interpol to issue a "red notice"
against him (deliberately mistakenly translated as "red arrest
warrant" in order to fool people in Mainland China), which shows that the
so-called "Red Notice" has now fallen as wasted paper.

turns out that the Interpol had a president who was a Nazi intelligence chief
who killed many with crimes against humanity. Now its president is the police chief of the Chinese

中国民主运动海外联席会议主席魏京生说，国际刑警组织选择中国公安部副部长孟宏伟为主席，可以让北京对其批评者施加新的杠杆作用，对逃离中国的异议人士构成威胁。VOA连线中国民主运动海外联席会议主席魏京生来做进一步说明。
魏京生先生指出：长期以来，中共当局将国际刑警组织发的“红色通告”蓄意翻译成“红色通缉令，”这就有逮捕的作用。他们还将此放在中纪委的网站上，实际上就是为了吓唬党内的反对派。过去这还只是针对海外的持异议者，现在则是用来对付党内的反对者，从心理上压制他们。国际刑警组织选择孟宏伟做主席，其实是在干涉中国的内政，帮助习近平、王岐山堵截反对派的退路。
魏京生谈到由于国际刑警组织的通缉，他本人就曾被当作恐怖分子而被扣押和搜查。中国政府很善于制造假的证据。现在国际刑警组织发布的有关中国的几百份“红色通告”里，就有许多与当局不和的官员乃至家属。这也是为什么本月初我们在许多法国朋友尤其是记者和学者们的帮助下，去国际刑警总部所在的里昂的原因之一，以对他们发出强烈的警告。因为这些朋友也都不满，多年来他们一直在警告国际刑警组织，不要成为独裁政权的工具。
魏京生说：在国际刑警的历史上，二次大战期间，他们也曾选出好几个纳粹德国的人，尤其是秘密警察的头子海德里希为主席。那对他们帮助搜捕反对派和犹太人起了很大的作用。所以我们现在担心这一情况会重演，这也是为什么我们要严重警告他们，并希望能就此与他们有所沟通。魏京生最后表示，国际间有良知的朋友已关注此事多年，这也是为什么这次去法国的访问极其成功，并得到学术界及媒体的广泛关注。希望这些努力能得到国际刑警组织有关成员国及其政府对此问题的重视。
