Wei Jingsheng Attends and Speaks on Vietnam Human Rights Day

On May 11, 2018, Wei Jingsheng and Huang Ciping were invited to represent the Chinese human rights and democracy activists to participate in the annual Vietnam Human Rights Day and attend the commemorative dinner as well. At the dinner banquet, Wei Jingsheng spoke to more than 300 people, mostly Vietnamese human rights and democracy activists, as follows.

For more than a decade now, we have been with you every year because our Chinese, the Chinese opposition, is united with you Vietnamese, Vietnamese opposition.

I would like to tell everyone some good news here, hoping to increase everyone's appetite. The U.S. government has finally decided to wrestle with the Chinese Communist regime. The good news is that the Chinese Communist regime is very nervous and does not even know how to react.

As you all may know, the real supporter of the Vietnamese Communist Party is the Chinese Communist Party. Just a while ago, some friend talked about the Vietnamese Communist regime recently becoming more cruel and arresting many people. It is learning from the Chinese Communist regime. If the Chinese Communist regime collapses, then the Vietnamese Communist regime will collapse as well. We need to all work together for this goal. Whether it is the Chinese Communist regime collapsing first, or the Vietnamese Communist regime collapsing first, it will all be a good thing. We have held so many years of activity in Washington now and I hope that we will hold it in Hanoi next year.

魏京生参加越南人权日活动并在晚宴上讲话

2018年5月11日，魏京生与黄慈萍受邀代表中国的人权民主人士参加了一年一度的越南人权日活动及晚餐。魏京生在有三百多人参加的，以越南的人权民主人士为主的晚宴上讲话。内容如下。

十几年来，我们每年都和你们在一起，因为我们中国人，中国的反对派，是与你们，你们越南的反对派团结在一起的。

下面我要告诉大家一个好消息，希望能增加大家的胃口。最近美国政府终于下决心要与中国共产党较一较劲了。好消息是中共政府已经惊慌失措，乱了手脚了。

大家可能都知道，越南共产党的真正后台就是中国共产党。刚才有朋友谈到，最近越南政府变得更加残酷，抓了许多人。这是在向中国政府学习。如果中国的共产党倒台了，那么越南的共产党就很快了。需要我们大家一起努力。无论是中国的共产党，还是越南的共产党，谁先倒台，都是好事。我们在华盛顿举行了这么多年的活动，希望我们明年在河内举行。
