to Attend the Symposium in Observance of the 40th Anniversary of the Democracy
Wall in the US Congress from 1pm to 4pm and also the 4th "Human Rights
Without Borders" Exhibition and the 4th "Human Rights and Freedom
Defender" Prize Award Ceremony from 4:30pm to 7pm Tomorrow on December 10,
2018
On
December 10, 2018, Human Rights Day from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, there will be a
conference in observance of the 40th Anniversary of the Democracy Wall in
Rayburn's gold room (room #2168).
The most well known feature of the Democracy Wall in China was the
publication of "the Fifth Modernization - Democracy" penned and
posted by Wei Jingsheng on December 5, 1978. This is an event sponsored by the Wei Jingsheng Foundation,
with featured speakers at the conference include then Chinese democracy leaders
WEI Jingsheng, YAN Jiaqi, WANG Juntao, and famous poet HUANG Xiang, etc. as
well as Sino-experts who witnessed and participated at the time including Ms.
Marie Holzman (France), Robert Suettinger (USA), Professor Yeau-tarn Lee
(Taiwan), Dr. Thomas Weyrauch (Germany), Dimon Liu (Hong Kong), etc.

Rayburn House Office Building of the US Congress is located at:

During
the conference, the Wei Jingsheng Foundation will also present this year's
"Wei Jingsheng Chinese Democracy Champion Prize" award to Mr. Zhu
Yufu, along with his response to be awarded, as well as to present the award
plaque to Zhang Lin, the 2007 "Wei Jingsheng Chinese Democracy Champion
Prize" awardee who recently come to the USA.

Wei Jingsheng Foundation, the European Parliament Office in Washington DC, and
other human rights organizations will join together to hold the 4th "Human
Rights Without Borders" exhibition and award ceremony for the "Human
Rights and Freedom Defender" from 4:30pm to 7:00pm. As this year's awardee, Congresswoman
Marcy Kaptur will be presented with the "Human Rights and Freedom Defender"
award.

2018年12月10日下午1:00pm至4:00pm，魏京生基金会将在美国国会Rayburn大楼金房（2168号房间）召开“纪念民主墙40周年”研讨会。研讨会将由1978年12月5日发表"第五次现代化--民主"的作者魏京生致开场白，其他出席并演讲的民主墙时期的领袖还有：严家祺、王军涛，及著名诗人黄翔；以及港台及海外的目击并参与的中国学者专家如侯芷明Marie
Holzman女士（法国）， Robert Suettinger先生（美国），李酉谭教授（台湾），Thomas Weyrauch博士（德国），廖大文女士（香港）等
。

之后，魏京生基金会还将向今年的第十五届"魏京生中国民主斗士奖"获奖人朱虞夫先生颁奖并朗读他的获奖感言。同时，魏京生基金会还将向不久前来到美国得到自由的、2007年第四届"魏京生中国民主斗士奖"获奖者张林先生颁发奖牌。

此后，请大家参加2018年12月10日（周一），下午四点半至七点举行的人权庆祝典礼，以及给国会议员Marcy Kaptur的颁奖仪式（颁奖时间为：2018年12月10日（周一），下午五点半）。
第四届“人权无国界展”暨第四届“人权自由卫士奖”颁奖典礼将在美国国会众议院雷伯恩办公大楼的大堂（即正门休息大厅，在面对Independence大道安检区的楼上）举行，并向在美国众议院服务时间最长的反共并支持人权的女议员Marcy Kaptur颁发第四届“人权自由卫士奖”。
