Chinese Democratic Party in the USA Took Fast Actions in Washington DC

-- Reported by Shi Shan, Radio Free Asia

2019-02-19

Some members of the Chinese Democracy Party who live in the United States conducted a series of fast actions in the US Capital of Washington, DC on February 19 to protest against the tyranny imposed by the Chinese government on the Chinese.  They also called on the US government to exert greater pressure on China.

More than 100 members of the Chinese Democracy Party from the East Coast region began a full day of gatherings and protests in the square in front of the US Capitol on the morning of the 19th.  The organizers said that the action was to support the Chinese people's anti-violence actions toward the Communist regime and to highlight the Chinese Democratic Party's philosophy.

Dr. Wang Juntao, head of the China Democracy Party, said that the activities on the 19th included a series of fast protests in front of the US Capitol, the State Department and the White House, and the Chinese Embassy in the USA.

"Today is the 15th of the first month of the Chinese Lunar New Year.  First, we are paying respect to the prisoners of conscience and political prisoners in China.  Second, we protest to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and support the Chinese people's struggle against the Communist tyranny.  Third we ask the US government to remove the CCP's power in the United States."

Most of the people who attended the rallies came from the eastern United States.  Many people drove for hours and arrived in Washington in the early hours of the morning.

Wang Juntao said that in recent years, the Chinese government has been suppressing the Chinese people more and more.  The human rights situation in China is getting worse while the resistance of the people is also increasing.

"This afternoon, our two teams will meet in front of the Chinese Embassy to protest, and then bring flower wreaths to the Victims of Communism Memorial to commemorate the Chinese who were persecuted in the past 70 years (under the Communist reign)."

When the members of the Chinese Democracy Party called out their slogans at the rally, they pointed to the sky with their middle three fingers in their right hand.  Wang Juntao said that the three fingers represent democracy, freedom, and the rule of law, while pointing to the sky represents freedom from fear and unity.

The 19th is also the date of a new round of US-China trade negotiations.

Wei Jingsheng, the famous Chinese dissident in the USA, expressed his support at the scene.  He expressed his support for the US trade actions against China and reminded the US government to be alert to the CCP's agents and representatives in the United States.

"Not only Chinese, but many Americans are also serving the Communist regime and helping the CCP to solve its problems.  So we must pay attention to this issue and ask the US government to remove the influence of the Communist regime."

The organizers of the action said that they would continue their protest rally in front of the Chinese Embassy in the afternoon and also bring flowers and pay tribute to the Chinese who were persecuted by the Communist regime in front of the Victims of Communism Monument in the evening.
