Statement in Support of People of Hong Kong
August
31, 2019
The
protests against the Anti-Extradition Bill have been in full swing in Hong Kong
for exactly five months. During
this movement, the people of Hong Kong have been unyielding with determination. They have carried out reasonable
struggles with reasonable demands.
Their behavior is reasonable and their goals are reasonable. However, up to today, the five major
demands of the Anti-Extradition movement still have not been realized. The irresponsibility of the Hong Kong
Government and the suppression of the Communist regime in Mainland China have
become more and more fierce.
Recently, many people were arrested. The Hong Kong police even refused to approve the assembly
and march in Hong Kong today. All
these reactions illustrate how the Communist regime in China is trampling on
the "One country, two systems" promise made before and its intention
to use its autocratic claws to clamp down on Hong Kong's freedom.
The
IFCSS has been paying attention to the protests in Hong Kong. We will not forget the contribution
from the people of Hong Kong who went north to Beijing to support students
there who protested during the 1989 democracy movement in China. We will not forget that since the June
4th massacre, the people of Hong Kong have held candlelight commemorations
every year to call out freedom and democracy for us. As an organization of Chinese students and scholars, we hope
that today's statement will further encourage the people of Hong Kong to defend
their rights. Today, the people of
Hong Kong defending their freedom and rights are also helping the fight for
freedom and rights for the people in Mainland China. The words and actions of the students and residents of Hong
Kong are highly intelligent, highly civilized, and highly executable, with high
justice. It is a milestone in the
history of the resistance movement.
It sets a shining example for the people in Mainland China. We salute to the people of Hong
Kong. When the Communist regime
stubbornly resists and rejects the will of the people, especially when it hires
young people to confuse the public opinion and tries to fool the international
media, we must tell the people of Hong Kong, as well as the international
society, that we stand together with the people of Hong Kong, and our desire
for freedom is the same.
We
will work hard to support the just action of the people of Hong Kong. Freedom will defeat evil in the end!

全美学自联支持香港人民的声明
如火如荼的香港反送中运动进行了刚好5个月。在这场运动中，香港人民不屈不饶，前赴后继，为合理的要求，进行了合理的抗争。他们的行为是合理的，他们的目标也是合理的。然而，时到今日，反送中运动的五大诉求依然没有实现。港府的敷衍与中共的打压却越演越烈，及至最近抓捕多人，警察局甚至拒绝今日的游行申请。这一切都说明中共正在践踏其当年所承诺的“一国两制”，欲以其专制的魔爪钳制香港的自由。
这些日子，全美学自联一直在关注香港的抗议活动。我们不会忘记，1989年的民主运动期间，香港人民出钱出力，北上北京支援大陆抗议的学生。我们也不会忘记，六四屠杀以来，香港人民年年举办六四烛光纪念活动，为我们呼出自由民主的心声。作为一个由学生学者组成的组织，我们希望今天的声明能进一步鼓励香港人民捍卫自己权利的决心。今天香港人民捍卫自己的自由与权利，也有助于大陆人民争取自由与权利。香港学生与居民高度智慧、高度文明、高度执行力、高度正义的言行，是正义抗拒邪恶的历史里程碑，是大陆人民学习的榜样。我们向香港人民致敬。在中共顽固抵抗，拒绝人民意志之时，尤其是其雇佣的小粉红们混淆视听之时，我们要告诉香港人民与世界人民，我们与香港人民站在同一个立场，渴望自由之心是一样的。
我们将努力来支持香港人民的正义行为。自由终究战胜邪恶！
