IFCSS
Statement on the Police Brutality of Hong Kong on October 1, 2019
October
2, 2019
The
Independent Federation of Chinese Students and Scholars (IFCSS) condemns the Hong Kong police for
opening live bullet fire at close range to the protesting high School student
Tsang Chi-kin and wounded him on the chest. IFCSS condemns the Hong Kong police and the Chinese
communist regime behind it for this murderous act, and for suppressing the
demonstrations in the past several months. We have learned that brutal feature of the Chinese
communists throughout our lives especially during the Tiananmen Massacre 30
years ago and we can see that that brutal nature has stayed unchanged and the
Chinese Communist regime has not honored the so-called "one country, two
systems" that the Communist leaders promised before the handover of Hong
Kong to China in 1997.
IFCSS
supports the rightful protests in Hong Kong and pays respect to the courage and
wisdom of the people in Hong Kong.
We will stay with you as always.
IFCSS
calls for all Chinese outside China and inside China to come to the side of the
Hong Kong protesters of brave students and residents in Hong Kong, as they have
done so to support people in Mainland China in the past 30 years. IFCSS also calls on Carrie Lim,
the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, to accept the five demands of the Hong Kong
protesters to stabilize the situation in Hong Kong, for the best outcome of
Hong Kong. In particular, IFCSS
calls on the international society to get involved to investigate the brutality
of the Hong Kong police force and hold them accountable in an international
tribunal.
