On the United Nations
Human Rights Day, December 10, 2020, the Voice of America Window on the World
program broadcast its interview with Mr. Wei Jingsheng about the United Nations
Human Rights Day and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, especially
about China's human rights issues.
During his interview
with Voice of America, Mr. Wei Jingsheng emphasized: The human rights issues
are not internal affairs, not a sovereignty issue, but an issue of rights and
security that transcends politics. Wei
Jingsheng pointed out that the recent Human Rights Watch report on human rights
in China contains many detailed and accurate important records, especially
exposing the persecution of human rights using high-tech equipment such as big
data monitoring, face recognition, iris scanning, DNA collection, and
Artificial Intelligence, etc. Wei
Jingsheng specifically pointed out that the CCP has given priority to various
high technologies to suppress the Chinese people, especially in Xinjiang for
many years. In fact, its big data and
high technology have been used nationwide, and its use of high technology to
maintain stability has violated everyone's basic rights.
Regarding the recent
efforts associated with Hong Kong by the Wei Jingsheng Foundation, especially
the "Wei Jingsheng Democracy Champion Prize" awarded to Jimmy Lai,
Wei Jingsheng pointed out that Hong Kong is currently at the forefront of
China's democracy and freedom issues, and the Communist regime's suppression of
Hong Kong is also the most severe. As a
result, many people withdrew, but there are also those like Jimmy Lai and
Cardinal Joseph Zen who have bravely persisted in Hong Kong, fighting for the
last ray of hope for the basic rights of Hong Kong people. They are especially worthy of encouragement
and praise.
Regarding the series of
human rights persecution incidents that have occurred since Xi Jinping came to
power, especially the recent persecution against Zhang Zhan, Deng Yuwen, Cai
Xia, Ren Zhiqiang, Sun Dawu, etc., Wei Jingsheng pointed out that the CCP has
never respected human rights and its religious-like goal is suppression. Although it has been relaxed under the
pressure of the international community and the policy of keeping a low profile
while hiding its sword, it can be tightened at any time. After Xi Jinping came to power, he adopted
comprehensive suppression and even encouraged whistleblowing, not only against
these better known figures, but also against all Chinese people, causing
everyone to be suppressed and persecuted and to live in fear. This needs the attention of the international
community, including the United Nations.
Regarding Mr. Wei
Jingsheng’s earlier comments on the
"Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China" when he pointed out that all
should be vigilant of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) acting against human
rights around the world, he pointed out that the CCP not only persecuted human
rights in China, but also extended its persecution to the whole world,
including helping the tyrannies that are undemocratic and persecute their own
people. The CCP also used bribery and
corruption to turn some international organizations into its thugs, such as the
United Nations Human Rights Council.
Recently it was revealed that the CCP National Security personnel put
pressure on foreign politicians and scholars, preventing them from telling the
truth, and even making them defend the CCP, etc.
Wei Jingsheng pointed
out that the CCP is very afraid of the world's attention to human rights and
hopes that the US government will continue its attention to human rights. This would be the greatest help to the
Chinese people. Human rights are the
basic values of Americans and the basic needs of the Chinese people. When the people discuss human rights, the CCP’s oppression becomes unreasonable.

2020年12月10日联合国人权日，美国之音时事经纬节目播出魏京生先生就联合国人权日及世界人权宣言尤其是中国人权问题的专访。
在美国之音的采访中，魏京生先生强调：人权问题不是国家内政，不是主权问题，而是超越政治的权利与安全问题。魏京生指出，最近人权观察有关中国的人权报告，有许多详尽准确的重要记录，尤其是揭发了中共用高技术设备迫害人权的情况，如大数据监控，人脸识别，虹膜扫描，DNA收集，人工智能，等等。魏京生特别指出，中共把各种技术优先用于镇压群众，尤其在新疆已多年。事实上，其大数据、高科技已用于全国范围，高科技来维稳已侵犯到每个人的基本权利。
有关魏京生基金会近期来的一些有关香港的努力，尤其是给黎智英颁发“魏京生民主斗士奖”，魏京生指出目前香港正处中国民主自由问题的最前线，中共对香港的镇压也是最严厉的。因此很多人退缩了，但也有黎智英、陈日君等勇敢地在香港坚持着，为香港人的基本权利争取最后一线希望，所以特别值得鼓励与赞扬。
就有关习近平上台以来，尤其是最近发生在张展、邓聿文、蔡霞、任志强、孙大午等人身上的一系列人权迫害事件，魏京生指出中共从来就是不尊重人权的，其宗教似的目标就是镇压。虽说曾在国际社会的压力及韬光养晦政策下有所放松，但却随时可以收紧。习近平上台后就是采用的全面镇压甚至鼓励告密，不仅仅针对这几个头面人物，而是针对所有中国的民众，使得大家都受到打压与迫害，生活在恐惧之中。这需要国际社会包括联合国的关注。
就魏京生先生在早先“对华政策跨国议会联盟”成立时撰文指出的要警惕中共在全球搞人权迫害，他指出中共不仅仅在中国迫害人权，还将其迫害扩展到全世界，并在全世界帮助不民主并迫害人民的暴政。中共还通过贿赂和收买等手段，来把一些国际组织变成其打手，如联合国人权理事会等。以及最近透露的国安人员等对外国政治家和学者施压，让他们不敢讲真话，甚至替中共辩解，等等。
魏京生指出中共非常害怕世界对人权的关注，希望美国政府继续关注人权，这就是对中国人民的最大帮助。人权是美国人的基本价值观，也是中国人民的基本需要。当老百姓讲人权后，中共的压迫就没有道理了。
