Wei Jingsheng's Speech
in Commemoration of the Tibetan Uprising Day
From 10 a.m. to noon US
Eastern Time on March 7, 2021, more than 50 people from all over the world
attended a conference on the Internet, and more than one hundred people watched
the commemoration of the 62nd anniversary of the Tibetan Uprising Day. The conference was hosted by Liao Tienchi in
Germany and Li Hengqing in the USA.
After the opening ceremony by the Tibetan representative Kunga Tashi,
Mr. Wei Jingsheng gave a speech. The following is Wei Jingsheng's speech.

Commemorating the 62nd
Anniversary of Tibetan Uprising Day

The Tibet uprising in
1959 was an armed resistance against the tyranny of the Communist regime in
China. The reason for the Tibetan
people's resistance was that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) broke its
promise and forcibly implemented an autocratic system in Tibet after completing
the autocratic transformation of most parts of China. It was done in the name of land reform and
was called the democratic reform.
However, in fact, it brought a comprehensive social, political,
economic, cultural, and religious change in Tibet. It used the autocratic rule of the Communist
Party to fully replace the limited autonomy that the Tibetans and the Tibet
government had. The CCP shamelessly tore
up the promises it made when it occupied Tibet and initiated severe military repression,
killing millions of Tibetans, regardless whether men or women, elders or
children.
Since then until now,
the CCP’s repression in Tibet has gradually escalated, affecting all aspects of
the lives of the Tibetan people. Only in
the times of Hu Yaobang and Zhao Ziyang, they were slightly relaxed. In the time of Hu Jintao, the successor
designated by Deng Xiaoping, various repressive measures were restored, and
bloody armed repression was staged again in 2008. Under the appeasement policy of the Western
governments, many new methods of suppression were invented under Xi Jinping,
which have even spread to other ethnic minority areas such as Xinjiang.
The tyranny of the
Communist regime is not only directed at the Han Chinese, but also affects all
ethnic groups and all people. Now there
is even a tendency to spread it to the whole world. Our opposition to the common enemy, the
Chinese Communist regime, is not only a responsibility to our own people, but
also a responsibility to all mankind.
But the resistance movement was not all smooth sailing. The CCP’s suppression, destruction, and
provocation have always existed. There
are endless refurbishments of new styles and new ways. Seeing through the conspiracy and tricks of
the Communist Party, uniting into one heart and supporting each other in the
cause of anti-communism will bring the guarantee of our victory.
Let us work together for
the same goal until the day when the democracy and freedom of the peoples of
all ethnic groups are realized.

纪念西藏抗暴62周年
-- 魏京生
一九五九年的西藏抗暴，是一场反抗共产党暴政的武装运动。造成西藏人民奋起反抗的原因，是共产党在完成了对中国国内大部分地区的专制主义改造后，撕毁诺言，强行在藏区推行专制制度所造成的。名义上是土地制度的改革，而且被称为是民主改革；实际上是对西藏社会、政治、经济、文化以及宗教的全面改造，是以共产党的专制统治，全面取代藏族人民和藏政府的有限的自治。中共无耻地撕毁了当年占领西藏时做出的承诺，并启用严厉军事镇压，杀害了成百万的藏人，甚至不分男女老幼。
在那之后直到现在，中共在西藏施行的镇压逐步升级，波及西藏人民生活的各个方面。其中只有在胡耀邦、赵紫阳时代略有宽松，在邓小平指定的接班人胡锦涛时代，各项镇压措施重新得到恢复，并在2008年再一次上演了血腥的武装镇压。在西方政府的绥靖政策纵容之下，习近平时代更发明了许多新型的镇压方式，并且扩散到新疆等少数民族地区。
共产党的暴政不仅仅是针对汉族，而且波及到所有的民族，所有的人民。现在更有向全世界扩散的趋势。我们反对共同的敌人共产党，既是对我们自己人的责任，也是对全人类的责任。但是反抗运动并非一帆风顺，中共的镇压，破坏和挑拨离间始终都存在。而且花样翻新，层出不穷。识破共产党的阴谋诡计，在反共的事业上团结一心，互相支持，是我们胜利的保障。
让我们为共同的目标一起奋斗，直到实现各族人民的民主自由那一天。
