The IFCSS
Condemns the CCP's Persecution of the IFCSS Council Member Gu Yi
April 4, 2021
Mr. Gu Yi,
IFCSS council member, has been supporting Chinese freedom and democracy for
many years. He has actively
participated in activities against the persecution by the Chinese Communist
Party (CCP) through the IFCSS and other activities. Recently, he has been persecuted by the
CCP through a series means. The
IFCSS protests this persecution and expresses its solidarity with Gu Yi.
Recently, due
to Gu Yi’s speech and activities, the Chinese police once again visited and
threatened Gu Yi’s parents in China.
In particularly, the Chinese police emphasized Gu Yi’s letter to the
United Nations against the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, "speeches
opposing the Chinese government," and "with links to Xinjiang
‘thugs’". All the WeChat
accounts, emails, bank cards and real estate owned by Gu Yi in China have been
frozen by the CCP. Now the CCP is
even taking his family as hostages, so Gu Yi had to decide not to talk to his
parents on the phone anymore.
The IFCSS
sympathizes with Gu Yi and his family due to the harassment and persecution
they received from the CCP, and strongly condemns the CCP regime’s unethical
and immoral actions without a bottom line.
We demand the CCP to respect freedom and human rights, especially
freedom of speech, and not to harm innocent people.
In the past
few years as an IFCSS council member, Mr. Gu Yi has been brave to speak out and
to participate in activities, in solidarity with the people of all ethnic
groups who are persecuted by the CCP.
Gu Yi also participates in the annual June 4th commemoration hosted by
the IFCSS. Even as he is
suppressed, he still insists to hold on to his morality and righteous
positions. Gu Yi's opposition to
the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics next year also represents the position of the
IFCSS. Freedom of speech has always
been the proposition the IFCSS has adhered to for more than 31 years since its
establishment. Thus, for many
years, many IFCSS colleagues and their family members have been suppressed,
even detained and lost their freedom.
For years now,
the CCP authorities have threatened and attacked IFCSS members through
exploiting our human relations and affection to our loved ones. The CCP tried to force us to abandon our
principles and our struggle, in order to achieve the purpose of disintegrating
the IFCSS. In the past 30 years,
many IFCSS officials and members, as well as their families, have experienced
harassment, threats, detention, visa refusal, entry refusal, and even refusal
to return home for funerals. On the
other hand, the CCP, which is facing a crisis of the legitimacy of its rule,
used its imperial literati to present the banner of "ruling the country
with filial piety", which has caused great pains to the IFCSS members and
their families, who are even unable to meet their loved ones for the last time
due to the CCP’s persecution.
Time and facts
have proved that this kind of policy or strategy of the CCP is not effective on
the IFCSS, nor many other dissidents.
The reason why we hold on our principles and morality, is precisely
because of our love for our relatives, our compatriots, and our human kind. The despicableness and cruelty of the
CCP will only inspire our fighting spirit.
We believe that through our joint efforts, the drastic changes in
Eastern Europe in 1989 and the realization of freedom and democracy are not a
distant future for China.

全美学自联谴责中共迫害学自联理事古懿的声明
全美中国学生学者自治联合会理事古懿先生多年来支持中国的自由民主，积极参加学自联及其它反对中共迫害的声援活动，近期受到中共的一系列打压。学自联就此表示抗议，并对古懿表示声援。
最近，由于古懿的一系列活动，中国警察又一次到古懿父母家威胁其家人，特别强调古懿给联合国那封反对北京冬奥的信、“反对国家反对政府的言论”，还有”与新疆暴徒有联系“。古懿在中国拥有过的微信号、电邮、银行卡和房产，已被中共全数冻结，现在又把家人作为人质，以至于古懿不得不做出不再和家里通电话的决定。
全美学自联对古懿先生及家人遭受中共的骚扰与迫害表示同情，对中共政府毫无伦理道德底线的一贯行径表示强烈谴责，我们要求中共尊重人权尤其是言论自由，更不要殃及无辜。
担任学自联理事这几年来，古懿先生一直在勇敢现身并发声，声援被中共迫害的各族人民，参加一年一度的六四纪念，即便遭遇打压，仍然坚持其道德与立场。古懿反对明年2022年在北京举办的冬季奥运会，也代表了全美学自联的立场。言论自由，更一向是全美学自联成立31多年来坚持的主张。为此多年来，许多学自联同仁乃至家人受到打压，乃至被扣押，失去自由等。
长期以来，中共当局以人伦亲情要挟和打击全美学自联成员，试图迫使我们放弃原则及抗争，并达到分化瓦解学自联的目的。过去近三十年中，多位全美学自联的理事、成员及他们的家人都曾经历过被骚扰、被威胁、被拘留问话、被拒签证、被拒入境，甚至被拒返乡奔丧。另一方面，面临统治合法性危机的中共利用御用文人祭出“以孝治国”的大旗，给学自联成员及家人带来了生离死别之巨大痛苦。
时间和事实证明，中共的这种政策或策略对全美学自联是无效的，相信对其他众多的异议人士也是无效的。我们之所以坚守正是因为对亲人的爱、对同胞的爱、对同类的爱，中共的卑劣和残暴只会激发我们的斗志。我们相信，经过我们共同的努力，1989年东欧的剧变及其民主的实现对于华夏大地并非遥远的将来。
