Wei Jingsheng Meets with Minister Norzin
Dolma of the Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR) of
the Central Tibetan Administration, and Representative Namgyal
Choedup from the Office of Tibet in Washington DC
On Friday, February 25, 2022, Wei Jingsheng, Chairman of the Overseas
Chinese Democracy Coalition (OCDC), and Ms. Huang Ciping, the OCDC
Secretary-General, went to the Office of Tibet in Washington DC. They met with Minister Norzin
Dolma of the Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR) of
the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), who was on her first official visit
to the United States after her appointment, as well as Dr. Namgyal
Choedup, the CTA Representative in North America. The two sides launched a new round of
Sino-Tibetan dialogue and exchanged views on the future of Tibet and the
importance of friendly Sino-Tibetan relations.
Minister Norzin Dolma and Dr. Namgyal Choedup saluted to Mr.
Wei for the contribution and sacrifices he made, talked about the Dalai Lama's
Middle Way, and asked Mr. Wei's views.
Wei Jingsheng thinks that the Dalai Lama's Middle Way is a very
realistic and wise strategy by first trying autonomy, a high degree of
autonomy, and to continue on that road if everyone is satisfied. If they are not, then independence is a
possible option. But a true autonomy and
independence can be put on the agenda only if China moves towards
democratization and people of all ethnic groups have the right to choose.
Minister Norzin Dolma and Dr. Namgyal Choedup talked about that
his holiness the Dalai Lama has always attached great importance to the unity
of Han Chinese and Tibetans, and only that unity and striving of people of all
ethnic groups can solve the Tibet issue.
It is hoped that from now on, the Office of Tibet will cooperate with
Mr. Wei to start a new round of cooperation and Sino-Tibetan dialogue,
including carrying out more activities to increase the understanding of Tibetan
culture among people of all ethnic groups and countries.
The meeting lasted for about one hour.
After Minister Norzin Dolma presented Hada to the two visitors, the two sides concluded the
meeting happily and wished a good cooperation in the future.

魏京生会见藏人行政中央外交与新闻部部长诺增卓玛女士与驻北美办事处代表朗杰曲珠博士
2022年2月25日星期五，中国民主运动海外联席会议主席魏京生和秘书长黄慈萍女士前往尊者达赖喇嘛和藏人行政中央驻北美代表办事处，与任命后首次来美进行正式访问的藏人行政中央外交与新闻部部长诺增卓玛女士及驻北美办事处代表朗杰曲珠博士会面并交谈。双方展开了新一轮汉藏对话，就西藏前途和汉藏友好关系的重要性，交换了各自的看法。
外长女士和代表先生向来访的魏先生表达了敬意，谈到达赖喇嘛的中间道路，并询问魏先生的看法。
魏京生认为：达赖喇嘛的中间道路是一个很现实、很富有智慧的战略。先试行自治和高度自治，结果大家满意就继续下去，如果不满意，独立就是可能的选项。但前提是中国走向民主化，各族人民有选择的权利之后，自治和独立才有可能进入议事日程。
外长女士和代表先生表示：达赖喇嘛一向重视汉藏团结，只有各族人民的团结奋斗，才有可能解决西藏问题。并希望从此开始，代表处和魏先生合作开始新的一轮合作与汉藏对话，包括开展更多的活动，增加各族、各国人民对西藏文化的了解。
会谈进行了一个小时。诺增卓玛部长向两位来宾敬献了哈达之后，双方愉快地结束了会谈，并祝愿将来的合作愉快。
