On May 11, 2022,
Wei Jingsheng was again invited to represent the Chinese human rights and
democracy activists to speak in the annual Vietnam Human Rights Day

the main contents of Wei Jingsheng's message.

Dear Vietnamese
friends:
For decades, we
have jointly resisted the tyranny of the Communist Party and strived for human
rights that all humans are entitled to.
The people of our countries have paid a lot of sacrifices in the
past. Here we commemorate their
sacrifice and continue their unfinished endeavors.
Communist thoughts
were introduced from Europe to Russia and then to Asian countries. The harm has not been stopped. Although Soviet serf models failed, the
authoritarian politics and thoughts it left did not disappear. Look at the war between Russia and
Ukraine today and look at the restoration of autocratic politics in Russia
today; these are all the consequences due to the influence from the Communist
Party. Therefore, the world will
never be peaceful without eliminating the harm of the communist thoughts.
The Communist
Party of the Soviet Union failed.
But the Communist Parties in China, in Vietnam and in North Korea still
exist. They are still oppressing
and exploiting the people. Why
didn't they fall like the Soviet Union?
This is because they changed from the serfdom of the Soviet Union and
Russia, into a traditional model of Asia.
The characteristic of this model is to manage the market economy with
new European-style autocracy. It is
easier to survive than the Soviet-Russian system, but it is still a model of
communism oppression. It still is
an autocratic model that is non-democratic and does not respect human rights.
Don't think that
when the Communist Party reforms to become a market economy, then it is not the
Communist Party anymore. Communist
political oppression still exists, and the struggle against communism
oppression must continue. We will
not achieve our ultimate goal until the entire model of communism is eliminated
completely and a democratic system is established.

魏京生在越南人权日活动上的讲话
尊敬的越南朋友们：
几十年来，我们共同反抗共产党的暴政，争取人类共同拥有的人权。为此我们两国人民都付出了很多牺牲。在此我们纪念他们的牺牲，并继续他们未完成的事业。
共产主义思想从欧洲传入俄罗斯，再传入亚洲各国，其危害至今没有停止。苏联的农奴制模式虽然失败了，但它所遗留的专制政治和思想，并没有消失。看看今天的俄罗斯和乌克兰的战争，再看看今天俄罗斯的专制政治复辟，这都是共产党遗毒影响的后果。所以，不清除共产主义思想的遗毒，世界就永远不得安宁。
苏联共产党垮台了，中国、越南和朝鲜的共产党仍然存在，仍然在压迫和剥削着人民。为什么他们没有和苏联一起垮台呢？这是因为它们从苏俄的农奴制，改革成了亚洲传统的专制模式。这个模式的特点就是用新型的欧洲式的专制政治，来管理市场经济。它比苏俄式的体制更容易生存，但它仍然是共产主义压迫的一种模式，仍然是不尊重人权的、非民主的专制模式。
不要以为共产党改革成为市场经济，它就不是共产党了。共产主义的政治压迫仍然存在，反抗共产主义压迫的斗争还要继续。直到彻底清除共产主义的模式，建立起民主体制，才达到了我们的最终目标。
